Week One Notes

Ahhhhhhhhhh...................the reaction of millions of males Sunday morning when they awoke to the true beginning of the NFL football season. Finally.

On with the notes:

The following teams appear to be better than I thought:

- Washington
- Buffalo
- The Jets
- Denver's defence....

Worse than I thought

- New England
- Chicago
- Carolina.....yuck
- Jay Cutler

- The juries still out on Oakland

Prediction I am incredibly proud of:

San Francisco over Arizona

Not so much:

Houston over New York

- The Jets defence is scary good. Matt Shaub was running for his life

- Jake Delhomme was scary bad. NFC Divisional part deux. Jake, meet the bench.

- Stomach punch loss for Oakland and Buffalo, but nothing compares to the life of a Bengal fan.

- Me thinks the Eagles will be just fine without Donovan McNabb

- Me thinks those splash sounds were fans jumping off of the Chicago bandwagon

- Guys like Brian Urlacher cannot be replaced on defence

- The Bears receivers are terrible. Should I provide examples? They looked like chickens with their heads cut off for much of the night against Green Bay.

- Adrian Peterson's touchdown scamper of 65 yards had to make Eric Mangini cring. It sure was entertaining watching him chuck a db out of bounds and essentially push off of another one.

- Brett Favre was out of sync with his receivers all day. Luckily it was against the Browns.

- Eli Manning looked fine without Plaxico Burress.

- Indy is in trouble offensively, but there was pass rush was against the Jags.

- Feature back....no problem says MJD. Only one carry was not sent his way last week.

- Carolina should have signed Michael Vick

- Jake..........Delhomme

- Drew Brees is not Jake Delhomme. What a performance against the Michigan State Spartans Secondary.

- That was a professional secondary? Eeek.

- Oh wait, that was the Lions.

- Baltimore's defence was unimpressive, but Joe Flacco looked like a future star. Watch out when this team puts it together. This could be the team that everyone expected the Bears to be.

- Welcome to the Super Bowl hangover, Arizona.

- The following games were televised Sunday at 2:00pm at my house. Cinn vs. Denver, Minn vs Cleveland, and New York vs Houston. Kill me now. Why didn't I get NFL Sunday Ticket you ask? Good question.

Next Week's Eliminator Pool Special:

Green Bay over Cinncy

Next Week's Upset Special:

The Jets over New England

- Finally, congrats to Tony Romo on his successful splits from the biggest drama queen in the country and the dumbest person in the country to have their own reality television show. You can decide which one is which.
